A fleet of nearly 900 vehicles serves the municipalities in Wake County, the second most populous county in North Carolina, and a single shop with a staff of 14 maintains the extensive and diverse fleet. The challenge for this operation was to manage a growing number of transportation assets without adding people, or spending more time or money.

What the Wake County fleet needed was an advanced technological solution in the form of asset maintenance software that could enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness by streamlining the management, tracking and execution of all maintenance processes for their fleet. Key specific goals included improving parts management and warranty tracking.

Today in the Wake County fleet, which has grown by more than 100 vehicles, software is enabling better maintenance management and execution, and lowering costs and improving warranty recovery.
