PC-11 Heavy Duty Engine Oils, now on the market as CK-4 and FA-4 products, became available to fleets in December of 2016. The new oil technology standards were implemented to help engine manufacturers reduce emissions in the newest generation of cleaner, more fuel-efficient diesels.

These higher-performing diesel engine oils protect engines with enhanced Shear Stability, the ability to resist shearing under severe stress that results in a lower viscosity, and in improved Oxidation Stability, which is one of the primary causes of oil breakdown that is accelerated by higher operating temperatures. PC-11 engine oils are also designed to enhance fuel economy above and beyond products that met previous standards.

The new PC-11 category is being driven by fuel economy and emissions regulations that are prompting changes to engines. To specify and use these oils effectively in fleet operations, learn more about the technology behind their development and how they can benefit on- and off-highway vehicles.
